I have a stack of 0.5 mm Graphite and I'm going to test every damn one of them. Why would I do this? I mean, there have probably been at least a dozen people that have done this over the years. Hell, there's probably an old, Anglefire site that lists and rates various pencil leads. I don't care; I've been a mechanical pencil nerd since 1979 when I swiped my dad's Pentel Sharp so I could draw robots and monsters.  Will this be tedious? Analog Defaults  Inspired by Brad Dowdy, The Pen Addict , here are the daily drivers that currently take up way too much space on my desk and in my messenger bag.  UPDATED September 15, 2026   I had to pare down what all I was carrying; the amount of stuff I had listed was ridiculous.
